Nipissing University marketing professor John Nadeau has won the Best Paper Award at the International Conference on Destination Branding and Marketing held in Macau, China.
The paper was co-authored with Norm O'Reilly from Syracuse University and Louise Heslop from Carleton University.
The paper reported on the views of tourists in China. The responses were gathered during the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing.
In a Dec. 18 university press release, Nadeau said the competing papers were “all extremely high calibre” papers written by destination branding experts.
Errol Aspevig, Nipissing's vice-president of academic research, said the award is in recognition of the school's expertise and is a “testament to the quality of the facility” and research done.
