The Dryden Development Corporation (DDC) has created a new position to focus on sports and recreation in the northwestern Ontario community.
Andi Kidd is the corporation's new sports, recreation and events investment coordinator. The position is a one-year secondment from the recreation and parks department.
“Andi's expertise in working with local user groups, community associations and organizations; will help the DDC move towards further development of a large sector that we believe the City of Dryden and local businesses could benefit from,” said James Harvey, economic development manager, in a July 11 statement.
Among the responsibilities of the new position are to promote Dryden as a sports and recreation centre, working with local groups to secure events, and helping with grant applications for infrastructure needs.
