A $250,000 donation from CIBC will go towards student scholarships at Laurentian University's Faculty of Management.

The Faculty of Management includes the School of Commerce and the School of Sports Administration.

“At CIBC, we're committed to helping Canada's kids and young adults build a better future,” said Mary Bellefeuille, market vice-president for CIBC's retail markets, in a news release. “We're proud to support Laurentian University and its Faculty of Management with this investment in the next generation of business leaders.”

The Faculty of Management is working toward attaining Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business accreditation, accreditation standards used to evaluate a business school’s mission, operations, faculty qualifications and contributions, programs, and other critical areas.

“Securing an investment of this magnitude from CIBC, an organization that has continuously shown such tremendous leadership in education, is a clear indication of Laurentian's growing reputation for excellence across a wide range of disciplines, and a further sign that the university is on the move,” university president Dominic Giroux said in the release.
