Laurentian University's Sylvie Albert has taken a job with the University of Winnipeg as dean of its faculty of business and economics.

Her five-year term begins Aug. 15.

Raised in New Brunswick, Albert has been associate dean of the faculty of management at the Sudbury campus since 2004, where she has taught both undergraduates and graduates in the areas of strategy/policy, organizational behaviour and management.

She has been active as an author and lead jurist for the Intelligent Community Forum, a New York think tank.

“Business and economics is one of our fastest growing areas of study on campus, and Dr. Albert's broad experience in both the private and public sectors adds depth to our faculty,” said Lloyd Axworthy, president of the University of Winnipeg.
