Highway 17 getting upgrades

Terranorth Construction has been awarded a contract to undertake road construction on Highway 17 west of Nairn Centre. The work, which is expected to create 30 jobs, is scheduled to start in June with an anticipated completion date of 2013.

Terranorth Construction has been awarded a contract to undertake road construction on Highway 17 west of Nairn Centre.

The work, which is expected to create 30 jobs, is scheduled to start in June with an anticipated completion date of 2013. It includes the reconstruction of the Highway 17 CPR overpass and the replacement of several nearby culverts.

“The project will reduce maintenance demands for this stretch of the highway, improve the driving experience and make the road safer for families and businesses,” according to a news release.
