Workplace safety concerns will be front and centre at the Partners in Prevention 2010, a health and safety conference and trade show to be held in Sudbury's Holiday Inn on Oct. 5.
Hosted by Health & Safety Ontario, the one-day event touches on a wide variety of issues and related preventative measures. These include how to establish a joint health and safety committee, awareness of electrical safety, working from heights, and dealing with substance abuse in the workplace, among others.
Practical strategies for the development and implementation of a workplace violence and harassment program will also be discussed.
The luncheon keynote speaker will be Carolyn Bennett, a playwright and comedian who will discuss addiction, recovery and mental health.
