Late last week, the Greater Sudbury Chamber of Commerce elected a new chair of the board and executive council for its 2009-10 fiscal year. Both the executive council and board of directors will officially assume their positions after a swearing-in ceremony formalizing their position occurs on July 7.
The 2009-2010 executive council includes chair Steve Irwin of Scotiabank, André Dumais of Bestech, Julie Dénommé of Lasting Leadership, Mark Weiman of Collins Barrow and Debbi Nicholson.
These executive positions were selected from the board's complement of 17 directors.
"It is an exciting time of the year for us," said Debbi Nicholson, president and CEO, Greater Sudbury Chamber of Commerce. "We have an excellent mixture of directors that I think brings a balance of experience to the board and everyone seems ready to contribute and tackle the issues that are affecting our members."
The formal swearing in of the 2009-10 board of directors and the new chair will occur on July 7 at 6 p.m. at 6th Avenue Golf Course.
