Former employees and First Nation come together to buy Greenstone industry

A partnership made of a First Nation, an economic development corporation and former employees of Longlac Wood Industries have bought Longlac Wood Industries' parent company Kruger Industries. The partnership, known as Kenogami Industries Inc.

 
A partnership made of a First Nation, an economic development corporation and former employees of Longlac Wood Industries have bought Longlac Wood Industries' parent company Kruger Industries.

The partnership, known as Kenogami Industries Inc. (KII), is comprised of the Rocky Shore Development Corp. of Ginoogaming First Nation, Boreal Resource Industries (a group of former Longlac Wood employees) and Greenstone Development Ltd (The municipality's economic development corp.)

The board of directors is made of an equal number of representatives from each of the three groups.

The partnership states its goal is to maintain the former Kruger site and seek other interests to create jobs and economic activity with value-added products.
