Four businesses owned by young entrepreneurs have received money from the Northern Ontario Heritage Fund Corporation (NOHFC) .
David and Kevin Lafortune will provide design and construction services for a structural landscaping business. Brendan McClellan will provide home energy audits to homeowners so they may access federal and provincial retrofit grants. Ashley Burton will offer instruction in various arts including dance, musical theatre and Taryn Gadde will start up a new cosmetics and body piercing business.
The ministry provided $87,000 to the four businesses.
The program provides up to $25,000 to northern residents, aged 18 to 29, to start their own for-profit business in the North.
