Ex-Algoma Steel president joins Sault Innovation Centre team

Former Algoma Steel president and CEO Denis Turcotte is using his corporate expertise to help companies in Sault Ste. Marie. Turcotte will serve in a part-time capacity as the 'CEO in Residence' at the Sault Ste. Marie Innovation Centre.


Former Algoma Steel president and CEO Denis Turcotte is using his corporate expertise to help companies in Sault Ste. Marie.

Turcotte will serve in a part-time capacity as the 'CEO in Residence' at the Sault Ste. Marie Innovation Centre. He will provide guidance, management, commercialization and marketing expertise to help local companies move their business to the next level. The goal is to have 20 growth-oriented firms work with Turcotte.

The Innovation Centre also received $203,400 from the National Research Council to support the 'CEO in Residence' program and to host a series of workshops that will aid the growth and development of local small businesses.

To be eligible for the CEO in Residence program, clients must be a Canadian incorporated firm with less than 500 employees and must be identified as having high growth potential.
