Espanola hires new EDO

Colin Wilson has been hired as the new community economic development officer for the Town of Espanola. Wilson was formerly the economic development officer with the Municipality of Central Manitoulin.

Wilson was formerly the economic development officer with the Municipality of Central Manitoulin.

“We are confident that Colin's work experience and enthusiasm will be an asset to the town,” said Cynthia Townsend, Espanola's clerk-treasurer and administrator.

Wilson's responsibilities will include facilitating community and economic development planning and initiatives; identifying and fostering community economic development opportunities; securing funding for economic development activities and programs; assisting local organizations, businesses and individuals with established economic development plans and projects; and promoting the community in order to ensure sustainability of quality of life and expand economic development opportunities.
