Improved market demand for pulp has Domtar recalling 230 laid-off workers at their Dryden pulp mill.
The mill was shut down April 25 because of the lack of customer demand for pulp. Employees were brought back in stages as the mill starts up. The steam plant began running on the weekend with wood chip processing starting a few days later. Pulp production begins after that.
At the same time, 200 workers in the woodlands division in Ear Falls and Dryden are back on the job and 120 employees at the Domtar Ear Falls sawmill are expected back to work by early August.
