The City of Thunder Bay is teaming up with its utility to install solar panels on city property.
Thunder Bay Hydro Corporation is conducting an assessment to find locations to install medium-sized roof top and ground-mounted solar panels on some of the larger municipal buildings and property.
Under this alliance, the utility will be the exclusive solar developer and have preferred access to city property. It is expected to be a $14-million investment.
Thunder Bay Hydro is a private distribution company owned by the City of Thunder Bay.
