Community development and the improvement of local economic activity is at the centre of the Chapleau Community Revitalization Project, which has received a $50,000 helping hand from the province.
Under the Infrastructure and Community Development Program, the Northern Ontario Heritage Fund Corporation is supporting the project, which seeks to identify local initiatives and industries with the greatest potential to bring economic stability and renewal to Chapleau.
Recommendations will include ways to expand tourism opportunities, attraction of private-sector investments, and improvements to the downtown core.
