Caisse populaire des Voyageurs' board of directors has approved the acquisition of three branches of the Desjardins Credit Union.
The branches are located in Sudbury, Thunder Bay and Mississauga. The Mississauga branch has already been acquired, but the deals for the two Northern Ontario branches won't be finalized until the end of June.
“We're confident that the transfer of members in Sudbury and Thunder Bay will be performed without issue,” said Jean-Marc Spencer, executive director of Caisse populaire des Voyageurs.
The three new branches will increase the credit union's membership by 2,000 and its business volume by more than $25 million.
