Cabo Drilling (Ontario) Corp., based in Kirkland Lake, has been awarded the contract to drill a minimum of 5,000 metres on Goldcorp Canada Ltd.'s Hollinger mine workings in the heart of Timmins.

The work will serve to help identify the potential for open pit mineralization.

The mine site is part of Goldcorp's Porcupine Gold Mines package, which also includes the Dome mine and mill, and the Hoyle Pond mine.

Goldcorp is currently undertaking a feasibility study for the project, which would convert the former mine workings into an extensive open pit, where mining could potentially begin in 2012.
