Looking to increase the life of its Timmins-area Black Fox Mine, Brigus Gold has announced the expansion of its drill program to include a minimum of 15,000 metres of surface drilling.

Nearly 5,000 metres of drilling will focus on step-out drilling to expand the Black Fox gold deposit along strike and down-dip.

The remaining 10,000 metres of drilling in and around the Contact Zone, part of the Grey Fox-Pike River property adjoining the mine and along strike of the Black Fox deposit.

Two drill rigs are currently turning on the Contact Zone. A third is expected to be added shortly to outline the mineralization trend of the Black Fox deposit. A fourth rig will be added in the coming weeks.

An industry-compliant resource estimate of the Contact Zone, based on 65 holes drilled between 2008 and 2009, will be announced in the Q4 2010.
