Apollo Gold Corporation has released the third-quarter results of production from its Black Fox open-pit mine 64 kilometres east of Timmins, which includes an estimated 23,250 ounces.
In the three months of July through September 2009, the company's Black Fox mill processed nearly 161,000 tonnes of ore at an average grade of 4.1 grams per tonne. The mill's average throughput was roughly 1,750 tonnes per day.
St. Andrew Goldfields' Holt mill 30 miles east of the Black Fox mine also processed 62,000 tonnes of Apollo ore at an average grade of 1.9 grams of gold per tonne. The two companies have an agreement whereby St. Andrew Goldfields will toll mill 100,000 tonnes of ore from the Black Fox mine.
The third quarter marks Apollo Gold's first full quarter of production at the Black Fox mine.
