Sault Ste. Marie's Algoma University is bringing two of its courses to Timmins in September 2010 thanks to a partnership with Northern College.

The two courses will include “The Political Economy of Social Welfare” and “Introduction to Community Economic and Social Development.”

These will be taught at the Northern College campus over two four-day weekends: Oct. 1-4 and Nov. 5-8.

An information session will be held at Northern College's Porcupine campus on Aug. 19.

“Part of our mandate at Algoma University is to deliver university education to Northern Ontario communities, and this is an important step to serving greater Timmins with programming that will have a lasting impact on this area,” said Richard Myers, president of Algoma University, in a release.
