Northern Ontario Aboriginal Diabetes Initiative (NOADI) has been nominated as one of the finalists in innovations in health care promotion category at the province’s fourth annual Health Care Innovation Awards.

The awards are designed to recognize original initiatives that are delivering better patient care across the province. The other nominees are mostly located in the Greater Toronto Area.

NOADI was established in 2006 to assess and fight the disease, which is especially common in the aboriginal community.

Presented by HealthAchieve, in partnership with the Government of Ontario, the award winners will be announced at the Celebrating Innovations in Health Care Expo on Nov. 18 in Toronto.
