Lucidia continues to evolve its offering and team in Northern Ontario to meet a constantly changing world of advertising where data and analytics are increasingly important.

Lucidia’s Northern Ontario team continues to innovate with the recent launch of the ASAPP Online Solutions software in conjunction with Northern Credit Union.

Sixteen years in, Lucidia is still chasing its never-ending goal of perfecting how organizations communicate.

Back in March 2001, the Lucidia management team never imagined the number of twists and turns the company would take to remain successful.  While the twists and turns keep coming, one thing remains the same—Lucidia continues to be one of the most unique places to work in Northern Ontario.

In the beginning, Lucidia was a pure play web development shop, but within 10 years they had grown to become Northern Ontario’s largest full-service marketing agency.  This rapid growth expanded Lucidia’s focus to include digital marketing strategy and services, and the existing web development best practices.

By the summer of 2015, Lucidia had grown to be a 40-person digital agency servicing primarily the travel/tourism/hospitality, membership organization and financial service sectors.  However, Lucidia’s leadership team realized major changes were occurring in the business world; technology was impacting marketing strategy and delivery like never before.  Big consulting firms were becoming major competitors, leveraging data insights to drive better decisions for clients.  Consumer purchasing decisions and behaviour were also changing towards a focus on the Internet of Things (IOT).  Lucidia needed to reinvent itself again.

By 2017, Lucidia had shifted in many of the ways necessary to meet the needs of its current and future client-partners.  First and foremost, Lucidia is no longer an “agency,” at least not in the traditional sense of the word.  Rather, Lucidia has truly become a solutions consultancy, often working with several supplier-partners to deliver solutions for a range of client-partners’ challenges and opportunities across technology, marketing, financial, operational and strategic disciplines.  A typical project for Lucidia is now multi-layered and often includes strategic planning, software development, financial modelling, and marketing communication.

Its internal team supports its client-partners by providing expertise specific to client strategy, creative thinking, and digital technology. The company often leverages supplier-partner expertise in the areas of research, public/media relations, video production, printing, digital analytics and optimization, intellectual property, corporate real estate planning, and unique space design. This unique combination of internal strategic, creative, and technological expertise, when partnered with supplier-partners, brings a range of skills and experience to the table for each of our client-partners. Despite the fact that Lucidia’s team today has a larger number of staff located in the Toronto office, this is only due to having the right team member skill sets there to meet the company’s evolution. Lucidia continues to seek the most talented and passionate team members to join its team and deliver a return on investment for its client-partners. Many of its most recent team members have come from relevant industries and bring with them the knowledge and experience to help create and implement innovative ideas for its client-partners and their customers.

Lucidia continues to seek out very bright, extremely passionate, high-energy and flexible team members who want to help the company strive towards its goal of “Perfecting How Organizations Communicate” ™.

Another thing hasn’t changed; joining the Lucidia team comes with some unique requirements and advantages. Staff will often be called upon to execute something completely different every day of the week, including working with many clients across many industries and disciplines in the same day. Together with their teammates, staff might need to brainstorm ideas and build a complete client-partner program in less than a week, while working late into the night. They might also need to dodge Nerf darts from team members (especially in the Sault Ste. Marie head office). Staff will be challenged with crazy uncertainties and be pushed to develop creative solutions every day. And that’s just the start.

One thing is certain: if people want to be a part of Lucidia, they must not only embrace change, but drive it. They must be prepared to become a part of something that will look totally different five years from now — and make sure they have fun doing it.
