Safety apparel and equipment supplier Soucie Salo Safety has relocated into a larger location in Timmins.

According to a company news release, the move is a response to a growth in business, and will combine two smaller locations into one larger store.

The business is now located in the west end of the city, in a former Michaels craft supply store building. The new branch opened on Sept. 4.

“We would like to thank the Timmins and area consumers for supporting our local business for the past seven years,” said Helene Poirier, vice-president of Soucie Salo Safety Timmins, in the release.

“We believe that the move to the new, larger location will enable us to provide all workers with more selection and allow us to better service the area with both our safety supplies as well as our cleaning products division.”

Last year, Soucie Salo – which has locations in Timmins and Sudbury – announced it had been purchased by Source Atlantic Ltd., a St. John, NB-based company, but would continue to be run by local managers.

“We continue to invest in our facilities and look for ways to enhance customer experience and deliver exceptional value,” Steve Drummond, president of Source Atlantic Ltd., said in the release.

“We are absolutely delighted to be able to reinvest in our local communities and increase our ability to service current and future customers.”

In operation since 1955, Soucie Salo Safety serves northeastern Ontario’s mining, construction, forestry, government, health care, manufacturing, and service industries.

Soucie Salo Safety supplies safety protection products, industrial supplies, respiratory fit testing, gas detection supply and safety training.
