Timmins and the Porcupine Prospectors and Developers Assocation will be rolling out the welcome mat in hosting the 2002 Northeastern Ontario Mines and Minerals Symposium. The three-day gathering, entitled New Frontiers, Old Horizons - Rediscovering Ontario's Minerals, takes place April 17, 18 and 19 at the Porcupine Campus of Northern College. The event features a trade show, a tour of the Kinross Hoyle Pond mine and sessions including a GIS workshop and new geochemical techniques. Gérald Riverin, general manager of North American Exploration and Inmet Mining Corporation is the keynote speaker.
