Deltion Innovations Ltd., a spinoff of the Innovation and Prototype Development Department at the Northern Centre for Advanced Technology (NORCAT), has launched in Sudbury.
Deltion designs and fabricates terrestrial mining systems and space mining systems, and facilitates the transfer of technology between the two sectors. Technology includes drilling/excavation systems, processing, power systems, remote operations and subsurface exploration equipment.
“This is a major step forward in the Canadian In Situation Resource Utilization (ISRU) landscape,” Deltion CEO Dale Boucher said in a news release.
“The team is excited to continue working with our private terrestrial mining partners, the Canadian Space Agency, NASA and other private industries engaged in ISRU. We will continue to provide these groups with the technologies needed to realize their space mining ambitions.”
