Eco-North 2002 Eco-Nord, a three-day ecotourism conference and the first Canadian event for the United Nations International Year of Ecotourism, will be held in Sudbury from Feb. 6 to 10. the conference will create a venue for individuals and organizations from across the North to explore opportunities, showcase regional tourism possibilities and to discuss how this sector can develop. The trade show component will provide a forum for private-sector tourism players to profile their services. Organizers of the conference say they hope to raise awareness of the nature of the global ecotourism market and the economic benefits of ecotourism and to identify market needs and demands of ecotourism destinations and programs.
