Village Media is collaborating with Rogers Media to launch a digital news site that offers local news in the Kitchener area.

On June 18, the Sault Ste. Marie-based media company announced it would collaborate with Rogers’ talk radio station 570NEWS to produce KitchenerToday.com.

In addition to local content – news, community events, obituaries, entertainment, current affairs and weather – the site will feature livestream video from the Rogers TV community channel.

This is the third such collaboration between Village Media and Rogers Media. The other two sites are based in Halifax, NS, and Ottawa.

Village Media additionally owns news sites in Sault Ste. Marie, Guelph, Barrie, North Bay, Elliot Lake, Timmins, Orillia and Collingwood, and has strategic partnerships with Sudbury.com in Sudbury (a sister publication of Northern Ontario Business), TBNewswatch.com in Thunder Bay, the Manitoulin Expositor (manitoulin.ca), and Glacier Media in British Columbia (KamloopsMatters.com).
