Village Media expands to Halifax

Village Media is collaborating with Rogers Media on its newest online news outlet, HalifaxToday.ca.

Village Media has teamed up with Rogers Media to launch its latest online news outlet.

Together the two have launched HalifaxToday.ca, which will feature local content relevant to Halifax, N.S. 

Village Media will provide the platform for the site, while Rogers Media will provide local news content, through its local journalists, and sell advertising for the site.

"We are excited about this new agreement with Rogers Media,” said Jeff Elgie, CEO of Village Media, in a release.

“We see significant complements between radio and digital, and believe the marrying of the two mediums will provide the best of both worlds for our audience and clients.”

Based in Sault Ste. Marie, Village Media has grown its online media presence to include SooToday.com, GuelphToday.com, BarrieToday.com, BayToday.ca, TimminsToday.com and ElliotLakeToday.com.

It additionally has strategic partnerships with Sudbury.com in Sudbury (the sister publication to Northern Ontario Business), TBNewswatch.com in Thunder Bay and the Manitoulin Expositor (Manitoulin.ca) on Manitoulin Island.
