Sault Ste. Marie will host the 2018 Northern Ontario Tourism Summit this November.

The three-day conference – an initiative of Tourism Northern Ontario and Outdoor Tourism Ontario – will take place at the Quattro Hotel + Conference Centre Nov. 13-15, 2018.

Its goal is to bring together tourism businesses, organizations and suppliers, as well as all levels of government, at a single event to find solutions to challenges facing the industry.

The agenda includes training workshops, information sessions, and innovative problem-solving workshops, a range of keynote speakers as well as numerous opportunities for networking including a trade show of product and service providers to the tourism industry.

Speakers will include Dr. Don Drummond, former senior vice-president and chief economist for TD Bank Financial Group. He will speak about the Canadian economy and its prospects, and on economic and policy issues.

Dr. Nick Bontis, a keynote speaker, strategy expert, and tenured professor, will also speak. As the world’s leading expert on intellectual capital and its impact on performance, his area of expertise is helping organizations leverage their most important intangible asset for sustainable competitive advantage.

Tourism Northern Ontario is the largest of 13 Regional Tourism Organizations (RTOs) funded by the Ontario Ministry of Tourism, Culture and Sport.

It coordinates, aligns, and invests in sub-regional programs and leads in identified pan-Northern management functions.
