Sault tech companies land provincial dollars

Canadian Bank Note, Insightworks earmark funding for software development

A couple of high-tech firms in Sault Ste. Marie are the recipients of $645,000 coming from the Northern Ontario Heritage Fund.

Canadian Bank Note Company landed $500,000 to develop bingo management system software to manage games on multiple platforms in Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation (OLG) licensed gaming centres. 

Insightworks Learning and Development pocketed $145,000 to develop training and development software for mobile apps, web apps, web browsers and desktop computers to help organizations recruit, train, develop and retain staff through visual, interactive and 3D-learning experiences. 

“The digital economy in the North continues to grow,” said Sault Ste. Marie MPP Ross Romano in a news release. “By investing in this innovative sector, we are making sure people in Sault Ste. Marie and across Northern Ontario have access to good paying jobs.”
