Village Media has launched two new online news sites.

The Sault Ste. Marie-based media company announced on Sept. 4 it has launched NewmarketToday.ca and PrinceGeorgeMatters.com.

NewmarketToday.ca is owned and operated by Village Media, while PrinceGeorgeMatters.com is owned by Glacier Media, but runs on Village Media’s platform.

Village Media thrives by focusing on “hyper-local” content – news, classified ads, obituaries, event pages, real estate listings, and more that cater specifically to the cities in which they operate.

The company, which now has a presence in 18 communities across the country, owns and operates the news sites SooToday.com, GuelphToday.com, BarrieToday.com, BayToday.ca, ElliotLakeToday.com, TimminsToday.com, OrilliaMatters.com, CollingwoodToday.ca, BradfordToday.ca, and NewmarketToday.ca.

It additionally maintains strategic partnerships with Sudbury.com in Sudbury (a sister publication of Northern Ontario Business), TBNewswatch.com in Thunder Bay, the Manitoulin Expositor (manitoulin.ca), Rogers Media in Halifax (HalifaxToday.ca), Ottawa (OttawaMatters.com), and Kitchener (KitchenerToday.com), and Glacier Media in British Columbia (KamloopsMatters.com).
