The parent company of a Sault Ste. Marie lottery ticket printer is making a bid to take over a California gaming technology firm.

Winnipeg-based Pollard Banknote of Winnipeg has made a proposal to Innova Gaming Group of Los Angeles to acquire all of its issued and outstanding common shares.

To support this acquisition,Amaya Gaming has agreed to a deal to sell its 40 per cent stake in Innova to Pollard, which runs a lottery ticket printing facility in Sault Ste. Marie.

Amaya owns 8.18 million shares in Innova and Pollard has agreed to make an all-cash offer of at least $2.10 per share.

Pollard has until to May 8 to enter into an acquisition agreement.
