A Sault Ste. Marie company has been fined $12,000 for an offence under the Aggregate Resources Act.
Ontario Corporation 1138934, operating as Superior Slag Products Inc., pleaded guilty to operating a pit without a licence.
Court heard that from Dec. 15 to 22, 2014, the company was hauling aggregate from a pit in Deroche Township off the Searchmont Highway without a licence.
Justice of the Peace Philip Stanghetta heard the case in the Ontario Court of Justice, Sault Ste. Marie, on Dec. 9, 2016.
