Sault company fined for operating unlicensed aggregate pit

A Sault company was fined for an offence dating back to 2014.

A Sault Ste. Marie company has been fined $12,000 for an offence under the Aggregate Resources Act.

Ontario Corporation 1138934, operating as Superior Slag Products Inc., pleaded guilty to operating a pit without a licence.

Court heard that from Dec. 15 to 22, 2014, the company was hauling aggregate from a pit in Deroche Township off the Searchmont Highway without a licence.
