Sault Chamber celebrates business at annual awards

The Sault Ste. Marie Chamber of Commerce celebrated local businesses and entrepreneurs during its annual Outstanding Business Achievement Awards on Jan. 20.

This year, the chamber received more than 200 nominations for the 21 awards. A list of the awards and their winners follows:

  • Volunteer of the Year: Barry Nanne
  • Outstanding Customer Service: CC Communications (up to nine employees), Dr. Floreani, O’Toole and Dool Orthodontists (10 to 25 employees), and ARAUCO (over 26 employees)
  • Downtown Business of the Year: Stone’s Office Supply
  • Diversity: Sault College
  • Customer Service(individual): Marlene Hemy, The Water Tower Inn
  • Business of the Year: OC Hair, Bath and Body Inc. (up to nine employees), Sault Ste. Marie Airport Development Corporation (10 to 25 employees), and Tulloch Engineering (26+ employees)
  • Young Entrepreneur of the Year: Kristina Koprash, KRUSH
  • Customer First: Quattro Hotel & Conference Centre
  • Innovation: International Bridge Administration
  • Leader in Accessibility: Sault Ste. Marie YMCA
  • Safe Work, Sound Business: Wardlaw Heating & Cooling
  • Indigenous Business of the Year: Ontario Aboriginal Housing Services 
  • Rising Star New Business: Paint Nite Sault Ste. Marie
  • Community Non-Profit Business of the Year: Sault Ste. Marie YMCA
  • Beyond Borders: Tourism Sault Ste. Marie 
  • Employer of the Year: Pinchin Ltd.
  • President’s Award:  Darrell Boissoneau
  • Paul Dalseg Community Achievement: La-Na Fragomeni
  • Skipper Manzutti Award for Business Achievement: Sherry Berlinghoff
