Another record has been set for passenger traffic at the Sault Ste. Marie Airport.
In August, nearly 21,000 passengers flew to and from the airport. That’s an increase of 4.28 per cent over August 2017, and a new 12-month record for the facility.
The last record was set in June, with a 12-month record of 216,172 passengers.
August’s passenger traffic also set a record for passenger levels in a single month – 20,914 – which surpassed the previous record of 20,667, set in October, 2017.
The Sault Ste. Marie Airport continues to be served daily by Air Canada Express, Bearskin Airlines, and Porter Airlines, with winter seasonal service provided by Sunwing Airlines.
This winter Sunwing will be returning to Punta Cana with service on Fridays from Dec. 21, 2018 through to April 19, 2019.
