Sault Ste. Marie's engineering and planning department will proceed with the tendering process for the Black Lake Road reconstruction project, valued at $5.3 million. Construction on the third phase of the project, from Trunk Road to McNabb Street, is slated to begin this spring, with portions of each street getting new storm and sanitary sewers and sidewalks. The Ministry of Northern Development and Mines is providing $2.5 million in funding for the construction. The tendering award is subject to receiving a subsidy from the Ministry of Transportation.
