McDougall Energy Inc. has signed an agreement to sell Husky-branded petroleum products and proprietary brand convenience store products.

Based in Sault Ste. Marie, McDougall Energy markets and distributes heating oil, propane, gasoline, diesel fuel and commercial lubricants, and is an EssoTM branded retailer.

“McDougall Energy is a progressive and growing company continuing to seek out opportunities to expand and serve the Canadian public,” company president Darren McDougall said in an Aug. 29 news release.

“This partnership with Husky will enable us to provide even more options for retail petroleum and convenience store brand offerings for dealer development prospects who are looking to enter into, or grow, their current business with McDougall Energy and the Husky brand.”

Husky owns and operates 550 gas stations across Canada. They consist of retail outlets, travel centres, cardlock operations and bulk distribution facilities.

“We are expanding our network of branded dealers and this agreement helps accelerate that strategy,” said Lawrence Richler, Husky’s vice-president of Canadian Products Marketing.

“McDougall Energy will supplement the work being done by the Husky team in educating potential partners about our brand.”

McDougall Energy is a privately run business currently in its third generation of family ownership.

It has been listed as a Best Managed Company by Deloitte for seven consecutive years.
