Nominations are now open for the Sault Ste. Marie Innovation Centre’s SSMARt Innovation Awards.
The ninth annual awards celebrate the best innovators in the science and technology sectors within the Algoma region. This year awards will be handed out during an afternoon luncheon on Sept. 12.
The eight categories include:
-Innovation Company of the Year
-Innovation Leader of the Year
-Innovation in Web and Social Media
-Innovation Project of the Year
-Innovation Educator of the Year
-Innovation Researcher of the Year
-Innovation Student/Graduate of the Year
-Innovation Youth of the Year
“We receive feedback, each year, on how impressive the innovation and talent is within this community,” the centre’s executive director, Tom Vair, said in a release. “We welcome area businesses, entrepreneurs, educators, and students to put forth nominations to help us recognize and showcase innovation achievements in the Algoma district.”
The deadline for nominations is Monday, Aug. 25 at 5 p.m.
