For new building construction or the redesign of an existing storage area, Equipment World's professional staff of space-planning consultants is available to offer innovative solutions for layout, design and installation.

Ernie Ukrainec and Pete Warywoda of EWI, from the Construction Specialties Division work to ensure a smooth transition from concept to CAD to installation.
The construction division provides support to the sales division, with on-site evaluation surveys, and expert computer CAD layout and design capabilities for projects of all sized, providing full turnkey project management. Local architects and project managers know the firm through its long-term membership in major construction associations, and have come to rely on it for many product specifications and applications.

Full-time construction estimators are available to do accurate take-offs from the blueprints of any project, and the company's installation teams are highly trained and fully equipped to tackle any job.

Products designed, supplied, and installed include shelving, mezzanines, loading-dock equipment, wire mesh partitions, lockers, and architectural products such as washroom partitions and accessories.

The construction division designed the mezzanine for maintenance access for the new Ministry of Natural Resources (MNR) water bomber maintenance hangar in Thunder Bay; and currently the new Thunder Bay Regional Hospital is keeping manager of the construction division, Ernie Ukrainec, and his staff very busy.

"This type of project means more than one million dollars in business for us," says Ukrainec. This project includes large installations such as 1,000 lockers, loading dock equipment, warehouse equipment, transfer carts, and a host of other construction specialties.

Equipment World's largest shelving project to date was the multi-ministry facility in Sudbury, but the company anticipates there will be more jobs of this size as it continues its geographical expansion.

Some of the other specialty products designed and installed by this division are mine dry baskets, conveyors, retail and display shelving and dock and door equipment.

Ukrainec is Equipment World's longest-serving employee, having started working for the company in 1979. He is also well known in northwestern Ontario as a (retired) veteran race car driver, having driven Equipment World's race car for several years with many years as track champion.

With highly trained and fully equipped installation teams, the construction division serves many clients, including small shops and large warehouses, automobile dealerships, paper mills and mines. Visit www.equipworld.com for more information.
