Sault College and Bell Canada officials opened a $325,000-training centre in late November. The centre is located in the downtown Bell building and classes for the seven-week customer service/call centre representative training program began Nov. 26. The full-time program will run up to eight times over the next 13 months. In accommodating 20 students per class, the centre simulates an actual call-centre work environment. Over the next two years, its expected the call centre industry will develop about 2,000 new jobs in the city in addition to the 1,600 people already working in the industry locally.
