North Bay company MetricAid is partnering up with a U.S. firm to provide cyber security for its online physician-scheduling program.

Armor Cloud Security, based in Richardson, Texas, is the maker of Armor Anywhere, which will secure the electronic protected health information (ePHI) that’s generated from MetricAid’s scheduling software.

MetricAid uses an algorithm to match predicted volumes of patients arriving in the emergency department with the performance of the department and individual physicians.

Users of the software report decreased wait times, improved care, and reduced readmission rates. Based on extensive expertise, MetricAid said it helps their clients operate at peak efficiency.

The company is preparing to enter the U.S. market, but first must obtain its HITRUST (Health Information Trust Alliance) certification, considered the gold standard for data protection.
