Lead exporters vie for global traders awards (3/02)

Fifteen finalists in Northern Ontario will be vying for the 2001 Ontario Global Traders Regional Awards on April 11 in North Bay.

Fifteen finalists in Northern Ontario will be vying for the 2001 Ontario Global Traders Regional Awards on April 11 in North Bay. The awards recognize the achievements of Ontario's small- and medium-sized exporters, as well as business leaders and students. This year's list of candidates include: Ebert Welding Ltd. "Sur-Trac" Trail Groomers, New Liskeard; Filtec North America Ltd., Sault Ste. Marie; HLS HARD-LINE Solutions Inc., Dowling; Main Filter Group, Sault Ste. Marie; McIntosh Redpath Engineering Ltd., Fort Frances; Ontrak Control Systems Inc., Sudbury, Prestige Glass International Inc., Elliot Lake, Quality Hardwoods Ltd., Powassan; R.L. Tomlinson Drafting and Blueprinting Inc., Thunder Bay; and WipWare Inc., Bonfield.

Candidates for individual awards include: Jon Baird, with the Canadian Association of Mining Equipment and Services for Exporter (CAMESE); Paul Brooks, Quality Hardwoods Ltd.; Holly-Anne Houle, with Cambrian College in Sudbury; and Tom Palangio, Topex Inc.
