Kirkland Lake leaders are counting on former residents to act as ambassadors to help with its economic development program.
Team Kirkland Lake is staging a conference Oct. 26 at Ottawa's Aristocrat Suite Hotel, which will be similar to an earlier event held in Toronto. That conference produced ideas, which have been used toward other projects.
The committee is planning an event, which they hope will thrust the town onto the international stage.
Town residents can assist with the success of the Ottawa conference by providing names and phone numbers of friends and relatives in the region at Kirkland Lake town hall.
