Gin-Cor Industries in Mattawa has been recognized with more accolades, after being nominated for a 2016 Private Business Growth Award, a joint initiative of Grant Thornton LLP and the Canadian Chamber of Commerce.

Though the company ultimately didn’t win the award, Grant Thornton LLP felt it was still important to acknowledge the company and presented company president Luc Stang with a certificate of nomination on Dec. 9.

Glen Weckwerth, a partner with Grant Thornton, said he wanted to thank Gin-Cor for its positive impact on the region, as well as for sharing its growth story by participating in the award nomination process.

“While Gin-Cor was not selected by the jury as a finalist for the award, we couldn’t go without recognizing the impressive achievements of Gin-Cor,” Weckwerth said.

“Today’s ceremony was to thank Gin-Cor for their leadership, growth, and economic impact in the region. They’ve accomplished a lot and this is a way to celebrate that.”

Gin-Cor President Luc Stang says his entire team’s effort has led to this success.

“Things like this are because of all of our staff and partners. From our original head offices to our new locations, it’s a team effort to create the best built, best backed heavy duty vehicles and trailers on the road,” said Stang.

This is the latest in a string of successes for Gin-Cor Industries.

The company was ranked on the PROFIT 500 list as one of Canada’s Fastest Growing Companies in 2015 and 2016.

Gin-Cor was also recently named 2016 Large Business of the Year by the North Bay & District Chamber of Commerce.

Recent business milestones have included opening new locations in Carleton Place and Kingston in 2014, acquiring Durabody Industries in 2015, and purchasing JC Trailers Design & Fabrication in 2016.
