Earlton-Temiskaming airport officials seeking to resume weekday flight service to Toronto are negotiating with a prospective carrier and expect to make an announcements in the coming weeks. The community has been searching for a carrier since 1999 when PemAir discontinued Toronto service. From a variety of funding sources, including a recent $180,000 contribution from FedNor, area communities and funding agencies have established a funding pool as security for a carrier in cases of a shortfall in ticket sales.
