SUDBURY — Feb. 19, 2024: The Centre for Excellence in Mining Innovation (CEMI) and Lepharo Incubation Programme NPC have solidified a strategic alliance by signing a memorandum of understanding (MOU) on Jan. 30, 2024, in Johannesburg, South Africa. This landmark agreement aims to foster collaboration in promoting and supporting mining technologies and innovations.

Mr. Chamirai Charles Nyabeze, vice-president for business development at CEMI, and Mr. Zenzo Nkomo, CEO of Lepharo Incubation Programme NPC, formally executed the MOU during a signing ceremony graced by esteemed dignitaries. Among those present were the Canada High Commissioner to South Africa, Honourable Chris Cooter, and representatives from the South African government and the private sector.

This historic partnership signifies a significant step towards enhancing technology transfer between Canada and South Africa in the mining sector. By leveraging each other's expertise and resources, CEMI and Lepharo Incubation Programme NPC aim to create a mutually beneficial environment for innovation and growth.
