The federal Ministry of Indian and Northern Affairs Canada (INAC) is providing funding of $60,900 to a northwestern Ontario First Nation community for the exploration of tourism business opportunities.

INAC, through the Resource Acquisition Initiative, is providing the money to the Wauzhushk Onigum First Nation to help plan negotiations with potential partners to assist in the establishment of a new tourism operation. The operation would include an ecotourism lodge, craft store, interpretive centre and traditional village attraction. The funding is being used to prepare a community economic development strategy and land use plan.
