Manitoulin Global Forwarding has acquired World Wide International Logistics (WWIL), a Chicago-based customs brokerage and freight-forwarding company.

A member of the Manitoulin Group of Companies, Manitoulin Global Forwarding provides international shipping solutions.

In a Dec. 3 news release, Manitoulin said the acquisition would enable the company to expand its U.S. footprint, and WWIL would now have access to additional services through Manitoulin Group of Companies’ extensive global network.

“We immediately recognized the complementary culture and focus on superior customer service at WWIL,” Manitoulin Global Forwarding president Dwayne Hihn said in the release.

“Our goal is to be the most reliable global shipping partner to our customers. With acquisitions such as this one, we further strengthen our ability to service different vertical markets across the globe and provide end-to-end service for our customers.”
