THUNDER BAY — It will cost more for airlines to use services at Thunder Bay Airport in 2024.

The Thunder Bay International Airports Authority has implemented across-the-board aeronautical fee increases of five per cent, effective New Year's Day.

Landing fees, terminal fees, aircraft parking fees and loading bridge/ground boarding fees have all gone up.

The airport has also raised the cap on some vehicle parking fees.

Short-term/premium parking is now a maximum of $40 a day instead of the current $36.25 maximum.

Long-term parking now has a daily maximum of $18.50, up from the former cap of $16.75.

There's been no change to the offer of free short-term parking for the first 20 minutes.

Thirty minutes in short-term parking will cost $1.

Thunder Bay International Airport Authority is the not-for-profit corporation responsible for the management and operation of the airport.

According to the authority, it remains the only airport in Canada with no passenger departure fee.
