Addressing mental health in the workplace

Workplace Safety North takes to the road with lunch-and-learn series
Workplace Safety North workshop

Mental health in the workplace will be the topic of discussion in a lunch-and-learn series hosted by Workplace Safety North (WSN).

The North Bay-based health and safety organization is promoting its presentation, “Promoting Mental Health Through Positive Culture,” at upcoming free luncheons in Sudbury on Feb. 20 and Kirkland Lake on March 27.

Topics in the 2018 series include mental health, stress, culture, and drugs and alcohol in the workplace.

“Psychological safety, mental health, and workplace culture have been identified by WSN clients as topics of interest and WSN wants to help northern Ontario communities and businesses stay ahead and make changes that create impact,” said Angele Poitras, WSN community engagement specialist in a Feb. 1 news release.

“The series is a great way to get a quick overview of hot topics in health and safety, while you network within your northern Ontario community. If one person walks away with a new idea for their workplace, finds the right resources, or meets a person that they connect with, then that’s a success.”

WSN’s Feed Your Brain Lunch and Learn Series will be presented until Nov. 27 in Kirkland Lake, North Bay, and Sudbury. Below is this year's calendar of events and the topics
