The Greater Sudbury Hospitality Association has launched in Sudbury.

A not-for-profit association representing a diverse network of hospitality businesses in the Greater Sudbury area has been launched.

The Greater Sudbury Hospitality Association, which currently has 21 members, aims to represent the local hospitality sector with "one voice," while "giving back to the community through fundraising, networking and advocacy," according to the group.

Members have planned a number of events over the coming months, including a Cook-A-Thon and A Taste of Sudbury Food and Drink Festival.

Members include: Jana Hospitality Consulting, Harvest King Food Services, Apollo Restaurant, Cedar Nest, Crosscut Distillery, Maple Hill Farm, Twiggs Coffee Roasters, Alexandria’s Restaurant, Overtime Sports Bar and Grill, Caruso Club, The Nash, Co-Op Boreal, Wander Food & Wine, Peddler’s Pub, The Cake Guy Sudbury, Zaher’s Test Kitchen, Boy Gorgeous Catering Co., Herc’s Restaurant, La Fromagerie, Gus’ Restaurant and Fresh & Easy Sudbury.

The association’s president is Jana Schilkie, owner of Jana Hospitality Consulting (JHC).

“I always knew I wanted to be an entrepreneur focusing on restaurants or nightclubs also taking business classes and writing a few business plans with some pretty neat bricks-and-mortar concepts,” Schilke said.

“At the end of the day, I am truly blessed to have my hospitality consulting business along with being elected to lead the Greater Sudbury Hospitality Association.”
